CLIFTON PARK,
NEW YORK

For the fourth time in a decade the Babe Ruth World Series will be making an appearance in the Capital District, once again hosted on the multi-sport complex in the Town of Clifton Park's Clifton Common.

Clifton Park was the home of the 13-year-old World Series in 1997, the inaugural 1999 14-year-old World Series, the 14-year-old World Series returned in 2002. With the support of the local league, the community as well as the gracious contributions by The Town of Clifton Park, the County of Saratoga and major sponsors, this year Clifton Park will be home of the Babe Ruth League's gem, the 13-15-year-old World Series.

Located in Upstate New York's Capital Region, the Town of Clifton Park nicely embodies all that is good about suburban living with a fresh blend of cosmopolitan sophistication in comparably scenic countryside and friendly, caring people making it A Good Place to Live, Work and Play. With a population of 35,000 residents, Clifton Park is considered one of the fastest growing suburbs in New York State. As a suburb of the New York State Capital, Albany, Clifton Park, is centrally located for the residents, visitors as well as vacationers who visit throughout the year.

Just 90 minutes away to the south, resides the home of baseball, Doubleday Field and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Visitors will have the opportunity to view and relive the moments that made them fans of baseball again and again through the museum's exhibits, displays, as well as reading the plaques of those Hall of Fame inductees through the years. Just minutes to the north, visitors can take in an afternoon of thoroughbred racing action at the historic Saratoga Race Course where courageous horses like Man O' War and Secretariat carved their place in history.

Saratoga Springs, the area offers first class hotels, quaint bed and breakfasts; superb dining, breathtaking architecture and historical treasures. Saratoga offers a variety of activities at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) which is the summer home of the New York City Ballet and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Near SPAC reside three museums worth a visit during your stay including the National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fames well as the Saratoga Automobile Museum.

Just a short drive further north places the visitor at the base of the Adirondack Mountains as well as boating and water recreation at Lake George. For those more adventurous, a three-hour drive will place you in New York City, Boston, Massachusetts or Montreal, Canada.

Baseball is a mainstay in the Capital Region including the opportunity to take in a minor league baseball by visiting the New York-Penn League Class A Tri-City ValleyCats competing at the state-of-the-art Joe Bruno Stadium in nearby Troy or watching catching the wood bat action of the Saratoga Phillies competing in the New York Collegiate Players Baseball League contests.
